UnWritten Blog Tour

UnWritten by Chelsea M. Cameron

BOOK SUMMARY:

Children's librarian by day. Romance novelist by night.
British single father.
Someone else is writing this love story...

Blair Walton isn't your average curvaceous tattooed children's librarian. She's also one half of bestselling romance author, Scarlet Rose. Along with her BFF Raine, she spends her nights writing books so steamy, she's afraid they would shock her Southern conservative grandmother to death . . . if she knew about them. That's why she and Raine write in secret.

On deadline for their latest book and out of ideas, Raine suggests (demands) that Blair find a guy and "do some research". Declan Bennet has all the qualifications: He's British, looks fabulous in a suit, has glorious blue eyes and gets bonus points for being an amazing single dad to his adorable son, Drake. But what starts out as a research project quickly turns into something much more. And Blair's not the only one with secrets.

My Review

I loved the plot for UnWritten! A librarian who moonlights as a romance novelist! Sign me up! I would love that job.

Blair knows who she is and doesn't apologize for it - tattoos, curves and all. I loved being privy to all the comments, thoughts and sarcastic remarks she had.

"Yeah. Just pulled a muscle." In my downstairs from having too much sex.

Declan seems like a perfect guy and he's British! I love how he brings Blair books with flower related titles instead of actual flowers. It's like he already knows her so well. Well probably not as well as her BFF Raine...

I think everyone needs a Platonic Life Partner like Raine. (I also think PLP needs to be the "official" phrase.) Blair and Raine's friendship is great. They are so close that they are like family. Everyone should have a best friend who is there for you like they are for each other.

Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars! UnWritten was a very entertaining book! I would recommend this to anyone who loves reading, the writing process or romance!

His Reverie Review

His Reverie
by Monica Murphy

Summary from Goodreads:

I knew from the moment I first saw her she was the one. The only girl I could ever want.

The only girl I could ever love.

She is light.

I am darkness.

She is innocent.

I’ve done too much.

She is good.

I am bad.

She is my every dream.

I should be her every nightmare.

We come from different worlds. She’s…perfect. And I’m…

Not.

Somehow she wants me anyway. So we’ll grasp at what we can. We’re going to make this summer count. She’s my secret. And I’m hers.

The problem with secrets is they never last for long. And when others discover we’re together, they’ll do whatever it takes to keep us apart. All I know is: I won’t let them.

Because Reverie Hale? She’s mine.

My Review

Reverie is so sweet and innocent, It's hard to believe she is about to be 17. Growing up with a reverend for a father and a witchy mother has made her the naive, innocent girl who is dying to break free and rebel.  All she wants is to fall in love.

She's a total contradiction. Shy and direct. Sweet and sexy.

Monica Murphy draws you in because you really feel for Nick. He has been through so much: betrayed by his best friend and ex-girlfriend, going to jail for a crime he didn't commit and losing his mother to cancer. Nick is so hard on himself. He doesn't think he is good enough for Reverie just because of his past.

I'm used up goods and she's virginal perfection.

I really enjoyed the format of this story. We get to read both Nick and Reverie's POV. Except in Reverie's case, we are reading her diary entries.  I thought this was a very unique and clever way to tell their story.

Rating: 3 out of 5 Stars. This is a beautifully written story. It took me a little while to get into and believe the connection and feelings between Nick and Reverie. All the ups and downs Nick and Reverie endure make your heart break right along with theirs. His Reverie ends on a HUGE cliff hanger, the sequel His Destiny comes out in August 2014.

Tamed Blog Tour

Tamed
By Emma Chase

Summary from Goodreads:

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: girl meets player, they fall in love, player changes his ways.

It’s a good story. But it’s not our story. Ours is a lot more colorful.

When I met Dee I knew right away that she was special. When she met me, she thought I was anything but special—I was exactly like every other guy who’d screwed her over and let her down. It took some time to convince her otherwise, but turns out I can make a convincing argument when sex is at stake.

You might know where this story’s headed. But the best part isn't where we ended up.

It’s how we got there.

TAMED goes back in time to the Tangled days. But this time around, it’s not Drew dishing out the advice and opinions—it’s his best friend Matthew, who of course is dealing with Dee Dee.

Excerpt

Eventually, we crawl into the bed, and lay next to each other—me stretched out, Dee in the fetal position.

“This is all your fault,” Dee whimpers.

“You’re right. You’re so right.”

“I hate you. No—I don’t mean that, I like you so much. I think I’m dying, Matthew.”

“You’re not dying. But I might be dying.”

Even though we’re naturally stronger than women, it’s common knowledge that men are ten times more affected by illness. Just ask your husband or your boyfriend.

My Review

This is the first novel by Emma Chase I have read, so I wasn't familiar with Drew and Katie from Tangled. But I loved the male point of view! It was a nice change to see how guys think.  Matt was funny, a little cocky but an all around amazing guy.

Matt and Dee have an instant attraction. They both aren't looking for relationships, just a good time. At least that's what they both keep telling themselves. I loved being privy to the internal struggle Matt goes through as his feelings for Dee develop.

Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars! Tamed is a love story that is both funny and passionate. Matt and Dee are meant for each other! This is a great story with a HEA!

Indiscretion: Volume One Cover Reveal

This new series by Elisabeth Grace looks and sounds HOT! Check out the cover reveal and description below.

Indiscretion: Volume One
By Elisabeth Grace
Releases August 4th - Add it to your Goodreads list!

F*ck and chuck. Pump and dump. Hit it and quit it. One night stand. Didn’t matter how I branded it—that’s all she had wanted it to be. That much was clear when she left me with my pants down and my dick still out.

What she hadn’t counted on was fate intervening and our worlds colliding—again.

The day I showed back up in the life of Chloe Griffins, I knew I had to have her again. My body was hungry for another taste. Like an addict, I’d been craving another hit for months, and there she was—flesh and bone, tits and ass.

The fact that she worked for the competition should’ve been reason enough for me to leave her alone. I had a job to do that summer and f*cking Chloe wasn’t part of it. But I was like a man possessed.

I’d do whatever it took to have her again.

Crossing the Ice Cover Reveal

I have something very special to share with you! I recently designed my 1st book cover for my colleague and friend Jennifer Comeaux. It was an amazing opportunity to work with an author whose books I adore! Jennifer is the author of Life on the Edge, Edge of the Past and Fighting for the Edge - an amazing series about pairs skater Emily and her coach Serge.

When I heard Jennifer was writing a spin-off novel about Courtney, I was so excited! And when she asked me to help design the cover I was so happy and honored to be a part of this amazing book! Thank you Jennifer for this amazing opportunity. The models are a Boston-based pair team, Alexandria Shaughnessy and Jimmy Morgan.

And without further ado, here is the cover for Crossing the Ice.

Release date for Crossing the Ice  is August 7, 2014!

Excerpt

I turned to Josh with my arms folded and my head cocked to the side. “So, you’re an athlete, a dancer and a musician? If you tell me you’re a skilled artist, I’m gonna have to hate you.”

He laughed. “I can barely draw a stick figure.”

“Whew.” I swiped my hand across my forehead.

“Even if I was the next Picasso, though, I wouldn’t have told you.” He paused and held my gaze. “I don’t like the idea of you hating me.”

My stomach fluttered. Josh didn’t often make extended eye contact, but whenever he locked those sinfully blue eyes on mine, I became a mesmerized puddle of swoon.

4th of July Wreath

I hope everyone had a Happy and Safe 4th of July!

I just wanted to share my Patriotic Deco Mesh Wreath. I've had it up since Memorial Day and plan on keep it up until Labor Day! It's perfect for the summer and all the Patriotic Holidays in between.

Supplies I used:

  • 15" Work Wreath (I couldn't find red or blue ones, so I bought a purple and spray painted it blue.)
  • 21" Silver, Red and Blue striped deco mesh (1 Roll, you will have leftovers.)
  • 10" Red Deco Mesh (Not even half of 1 Roll, so there will be plenty left over.)
  • 10" Blue Deco Mesh (Not even half of 1 Roll, so there will be plenty left over.)
  • Star Decorations (I had purchased 2 packs for 25 cents after Christmas, so I painted some white and silver and kept the others red.)
  • Bethlehem Lights (battery operated with a timer) I love these lights, I use them on all my wreaths.
For my wreath I used the 21" stripe deco mesh, starting on the inner circle of the wreath, then moving to the outer circle. I used about 9 inches of mesh for each "poof".

Then I added some 10" Red and Blue mesh to add a little more color to the wreath.

I glued the stars randomly on the wreath using hot glue. And then I added the lights to finish the wreath.

I used my left over 21" Silver, Red and Blue deco mesh to make some garland across my porch.  I also strung the globe lights with the garland for the 4th of July weekend.

Rusty Nailed by Alice Clayton

Rusty Nailed
by Alice Clayton

I've spent the last few days in Caroline and Simon's world! I was glad I waited to read Wallbanger and Rusty Nailed back to back. Except now I have to wait until September for the next book in The Cocktail Series.

In Rusty Nailed life has gotten very busy for Caroline and Simon. She's taken on more responsibility at work, and he's traveling all the time for photo shoots. Thankfully they get to "play house" while they house sit for Jillian.

Things might be hectic, but they are happy and their weird schedules work for them. Until Simon decides to go to his 10 Year High School Reunion.

Simon is nearly perfect. He's always trying to make Caroline happy, he gorgeous, he's sex on a stick! After his trip down memory lane, things take a 180! Simon is home all the time, canceling photo shoots, their trip to Rio, and changing holiday plans.

Okay. I'm going to say the thing you're not supposed to say. I'd be glad when I had the bed to myself again.

All the pressure is getting to Caroline, but she handles it well. I don't know how she kept her cool for as long as she did. When she finally explodes and shares all her feelings, I was happy for her. She was holding way to much inside.

I appreciated the happy ending, but I hope this isn't the last story about Caroline and Simon!

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Stars. I love Alice Clayton's writing. She's hilarious! I felt Caroline lost some of her spunk in this story, probably because of all the pressure, and I really missed that. I also love how she ended both books with Clive's POV - so clever! Wallbanger and Rusty Nailed are hot and hilarious books!

Buy Rusty Nailed on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
